Privacy Policy

Italian Nightmares is an independent game studio run by a single developer in Italy. There is no company structure behind it and no third party processing data on its behalf beyond the hosting and analytics providers named below.

For anything in this policy, use the Contact section at the bottom of this page. It reaches a person, not a ticketing system.

Nothing that identifies you. There is no sign-up, no login, no contact form, no mailing list and no comment section. The site does not ask for your name, your email address or anything else, because there is nowhere to put it.

No advertising network is loaded, no social tracking pixel is embedded, and no data is sold or shared with anyone for marketing purposes.

The site can load Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless: it does not store an identifier on your device and it cannot follow you to other sites. What it records is aggregate — which page was viewed, the referring site, an approximate country, and whether the device was a phone or a desktop.

It is loaded only after you press Allow in the banner. If you decline, or simply never answer, the script is never fetched and nothing is measured. Your choice is remembered on your own device and can be changed at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain.

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. Like any web server, its infrastructure records requests — IP address, timestamp, requested URL and browser user agent — for delivery, security and abuse prevention. These logs are short-lived, are not used to build a profile, and are not accessible to the studio in a form that identifies individual visitors.

The legal basis for these logs is legitimate interest in keeping the site online and secure, under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

One entry is written to your browser's local storage, and only after you answer the banner: a single value recording whether you allowed or declined analytics. It contains no identifier and is never sent anywhere. Without it the banner would ask again on every page.

No cookies are set by this site.

Typefaces are served from this site's own domain and are bundled at build time. No request is made to Google Fonts or any other font host while you browse, so no third party learns that you visited.

All artwork is served from this domain as well.

The site links out to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Patreon and Steam. Once you follow one of those links you are on their platform, under their privacy policy, and this policy no longer applies.

Support for the project is handled entirely by Patreon. Payments, billing details and card data are processed by Patreon and never reach this site or the studio.

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase and port your personal data, to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

In practice there is almost nothing to act on, because the site holds no data that identifies you. If you believe otherwise, get in touch through the Contact section below and it will be looked into.

If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated. There is no mailing list to notify, so the date is the honest way to tell.
